Ixef 1521 is a 50% glass-fiber reinforced, flame retardant polyarylamide which exhibits high strength and stiffness, outstanding surface gloss, and excellent creep resistance.
Ixef 1524 is a 50% glass-fiber reinforced, halogen-free flame retardant polyarylamide which exhibits high strength and stiffness, good surface gloss, and excellent creep resistance.
Ixef 1622 is an impact modified, 50% glass-fiber reinforced polyarylamide. which exhibits very high strength and rigidity, outstanding surface gloss, and excellent impact resistance.
Ixef 2030 is a 55% glass-fiber/mineral reinforced polyarylamide compound which exhibits high strength, very high stiffness, Low warpage, excellent creep resistance and outstanding surface gloss.
Ixef 3008 is a 30% carbon-fiber reinforced polyarylamide compound which exhibits extremely high strength and stiffness, good surface gloss, excellent creep resistance, and lower density than glass-fiber reinforced engineering resins.
Overview:
Ixef PARA (polyarylamide) provides a unique combination of strength and aesthetics, making it ideal for complex parts that require both overall strength and a smooth, beautiful surface.
Ixef compounds typically contain 50-60% glass fiber reinforcement, giving them remarkable strength and rigidity. What makes them unique is that even with high glass loadings, the smooth, resin-rich surface delivers a high-gloss, glass-free finish that's ideal for painting, metallization or producing a naturally reflective shell.
Ixef PARA compounds are available in a variety of grades to meet specific application requirements. The base resin is a semi-aromatic,semi-crystalline polyamide with mineral and/or advanced fillers and glass fiber reinforcement.Impact-modified and flame-retardant grades are available as well as custom colors.
Ixef PARA compounds can be processed on conventional injection molding equipment. It is essential that the mold temperature is between 120 °C to 140 °C (248 °F to 284 °F) in order to achieve maximum crystallinity. This will assure a good surface finish, good dimensional stability, full mechanical properties, and low moisture absorption.
Design engineers routinely use Ixef PARA to replace expensive composite or machine-tooled metal parts in applications where strength, aesthetics and a variety of other attributes are needed.
High flow into thin walls
In addition, Ixef PARA is an extremely high-flow resin so it can readily fill walls as thin as 0.5 mm, even with glass loadings as high as 60%.
Excellent Surface Finish
Superb, resin-rich surface provides a highly polished appearance, even with high glass fiber content.
Very High Strength and Stiffness
The tensile and flexural strength of Ixef compounds are similar to many cast metals and alloys at ambient temperature. Ixef 1032 (60% glass fiber) exhibits typical values of 280 MPa and 400 MPa respectively at 23°C (73°F).
