Nipol 1042, Standard medium-high NBR.

Nipol 1041, Standard high NBR.

Nipol 1041L, Low viscosity version of Nipol 1041 providing good processability.

Nipol 1032J, Excellent water resistance with very low metal corrosion. Very good building tack.

Nipol 1031, Excellent fuel and water resistance. Very low corrosion to metals.

Nipol 1022, Medium oil resistance and directly soluble in many solvents without the necessity of mill breakdown.

Nipol 1001LG is a copolymer with very high oil resistance. Its properties are similar to those of Nipol 1001CG with the exception that: a) no milling is required for ungelled cements; and b) non-polymer constituents have been designed so as not to interfere with adhesion. Sufficient antioxidant is added during manufacture for normal storage conditions. No fatty acid or fatty soap is used in the manufacturing process for this product.

Nipol 1000X132, Highest ACN content for maximum oil and fuel resistance and low gas permeability.

Overview:
Nipol NBR elastomers offer a good balance of performance and cost-effectiveness for applications needing fluid resistance, moderate heat resistance, and durability. We offer the broadest portfolio of NBR elastomers of anyone in the industry.

The factor to consider when selecting the approriate Nipol grade is Mooney viscosity, a measure of approximate molecular weight of the polymer. A low Mooney viscosity can improve the processability of the compound. As Mooney viscosity increases, the ultimate physical properties and compression set are improved.

NIPOL NBR are recommended when oil or solvent resistance is needed for the proper functioning of rubber parts. To obtain a broad spectrum of hardnesses and other essential properties, Nipol elastomers can be blended to achieve optimal performance. Nipol elastomers are the best value for all but the most demanding oil, heat and chemical applications and are available in powder, crumb, liquid and bale forms. Nipol nitrile elastomers are especially suitable for thermoplastics and thermoset modification; they are also used as additives in coatings and adhesives.

Broad Offering of ACN Content
By varying the ACN content, a good balance of low temperature performance and fuel resistance can be achieved. Nipol NBR is offered at ACN levels ranging from 19% to 50%.

Diverse Portfolio of Products
Nipol NBR elastomers are available in a variety of grades. Not only do the products cover a wide range of ACN levels, but they can be further categorized based on processability (Mooney viscosity) or by differences in polymerization chemistry. Nipol NBR elastomers can be segmented into hot polymers, NBR/PVC, pre-crosslinked grades, carboxylated grades, and more. Nipol NBR elastomers are also available in a variety of forms (powder, crumb, liquid, and bale).

APPLICATIONS
Abrasion Resistance
Carboxylated nitrile rubber (XNBR) is a terpolymer. Compared with conventional NBR, XNBR has higher tensile strength, modulus, and hardness, but the key performance advantage is the significant improvement in abrasion resistance. Nipol NX775 utilizes proprietary ZEON technology to offer enhanced scorch safety over other grades of XNBR, allowing for a wider processing window and making it a viable option in difficult to mold parts.

Stator Applications
Nipol 3640S was specifically developed for stator applications in the oil field industry. Nipol 3640S is a low viscosity polymer to aid in processing and also offers improved scorch safety over traditional NBR grades. Zeon later introduced Nipol 4040S, building on the excellent performance of Nipol 3640S but offering improved fluid resistance. Nipol stator grades maximize in-service parameters and are optimized on the relationship between dynamic properties and pumping efficiency. Testing has also shown superior hot water adhesion compared to other available grades.

Water Resistance
Nipol 1030 series NBR polymers were developed for use in applications requiring long-term resistance to water exposure. Nipol 1030 series polymers have water soluble ash values below 0.1%.
