Description:
Torlon 4200 is an unreinforced, unpigmented grade of polyamide-imide (PAI) resin for extrusion. This grade is designed for applications in the semiconductor industry which cannot tolerate particulates such as metals or inorganic particles migrating from the polymer. Torlon 4200 has the best impact resistance and greatest elongation of all the Torlong grades.
Torlon 4203L is an unreinforced, lubricated, pigmented grade of polyamide-imide (PAI) resin. It has the best impact resistance and greatest elongation of all the Torlon grades. Torlon 4203L resin offers outstanding electrical properties, which makes it ideal for high performance parts such as connectors, switches and relays. In addition Torlon 4203L polyamide-imide can be used in applications such as thrust washers, spline liners, valve seats, bushings, bearings, wear rings, cams and other applications requiring strength at high temperature and resistance to wear.
Torlon 4275 is a wear-resistant grade of polyamide-imide (PAI). This grade offers an excellent balance of mechanical properties and wear resistance. It offers high tensile strength and modulus with a low coefficient of friction and outstanding wear resistance at both high velocity and high pressure conditions. Potential applications for Torlon 4275 polyamide-imide include thrust washers, spline liners, valve seats, bushings, bearings, wear rings, cams and other applications requiring strength at high temperature and resistance to wear.
Torlon 4301 is a wear-resistant grade of polyamide-imide (PAI) resin. It has a good balance of mechanical properties and wear resistance. It offers high flexural and compressive strength with a low coefficient of friction and outstanding wear resistance at both high velocity and high pressure conditions. Potential applications for Torlon 4301 polyamide-imide include thrust washers, spline liners, valve seats, bushings, bearings, wear rings, cams and other applications requiring strength at high temperature and resistance to wear.
Torlon 4435 is a wear grade containing graphite, PTFE and other additives making it well suited for high pressure and velocity bearings and wear parts. It offers the lowest wear rate under most non-lubricated conditions. It is an enhanced wear grade of Torlon with improved properties over 4301 especially at high velocities-high pressure. Its CLTE is the lowest of the Torlon wear grades and its wear rate among the lowest at most PV conditions.
Torlon 4630 is an injection-moldable, wear-resistant grade of polyamide-imide (PAI), that has been formulated to give outstanding wear resistance in non-lubricated applications. Potential applications for Torlon 4630 polyamide-imide include thrust washers, seal rings, sliding vanes, bobbins, bushings, clutch rollers and pistons.
Torlon 4645 is the highest performance Torlon wear grade similar to 4630 but is best for externally lubricated bearing applications. Torlon 4645 offers the lowest wear rate in lubricated, high PV bearing applications. It contains a proprietary combination of carbon fiber and PTFE.Torlon 4645, an injection-moldable, wear-resistant grade of polyamide-imide (PAI), has been formulated to give outstanding wear resistance in lubricated wear applications.
Torlon 5030 is a 30% glass-fiber reinforced grade of polyamide-imide (PAI) resin. It offers high strength and modulus and exceptional creep resistance. It has thermal expansion characteristics similar to aluminum and therefore excellent dimensional stability. The mechanical properties of Torlon 5030 resin make it a candidate for metal replacement in high temperature, high stress applications. In addition, it offers outstanding electrical properties, which makes it ideal for high performance parts such as connectors, switches and relays.
Torlon 7130 is an 30% carbon-fiber reinforced grade of polyamide-imide (PAI) resin. It offers high strength and modulus, exceptional creep resistance, and good fatigue resistance. It has thermal expansion characteristics similar to steel, and therefore excellent dimensional stability. The potential applications for this resin include metal replacement, sliding vanes, aerospace parts, impellors, shrouds, pistons, and housings. It is available in injection molding and extrusion (E) grades.
Overview:
Torlon polyamide-imide (PAI) is the highest performing, melt-processable thermoplastic. The amorphous polymer has exceptional resistance to wear, creep and chemicals and performs well under severe service conditions up to 260°C (500°F). Torlon PAI also has superior electrical and structural characteristics at high temperatures,an extremely low coefficient of linear thermal expansion, and exceptional dimensional stability. Typical applications include non-lubricating bearings, seals, valves, compressors, and piston parts, bearing cages, bushings, and thrust washers.
Torlon PAI (polyamide-imide) combines the exceptional performance of thermoset polyimides with the melt-processing advantage of thermoplastics. Wear-resistance grades offer unsurpassed performance in both dry and lubricated environments. High-strength grades retain their toughness, making PAI the industry's highest performing thermoplastic.
PAI exhibits greater compressive strength and higher impact resistance than most advanced engineering plastics. High creep resistance and an extremely low coefficient of linear thermal expansion (CLTE) provide excellent dimensional stability.
