Veradel PESU
Veradel 3053P
Veradel 3000RP
Veradel 3400P
Veradel 3600P
Veradel 3600RP
Description:
Veradel 3000P, 3100P, 3200P, 3400P and 3600P are polyethersulfone (PESU) powders for dissolving or dispersing into solutions. They can also be ground to smaller particle size or blended with other solid particles. The grades differ by their molecular weights, with 3000P the highest and 3600P the lowest. There is a direct correlation between molecular weight and solution viscosity. PESU offers excellent toughness and outstanding hydrolytic resistance. It resists attack from steam, boiling water, and mineral acids. Cast films or coatings of PESU are transparent and have additional desirable properties including long term thermal stability, excellent metal adhesion and formability and inherent flame resistance. Typical applications include high-temperature coating formulations, membranes, advanced high-temperature composites, and specialty adhesives.
Veradel 3600RP hydroxyl-functionalized polyethersulfone (r-PESU) is an amorphous, high-temperature sulfone polymer featuring reactive end groups to enhance solubility for dissolving or dispersing into solutions and to improve adhesion to substrates when used as a coating. Veradel 3600RP r-PESU offers excellent toughness and outstanding hydrolytic resistance. It resists attack from steam, boiling water and mineral acids. Cast films or coatings or r-PESU are transparent and have additional desirable properties, including long term thermal stability, excellent metal adhesion and formability and inherent flame resistance. Veradel r-PESU polymers are available in two molecular weight regimes. Veradel 3000RP is a high molecular weight sulfone polymer with a relatively low level of functionality while Veradel 3600RP has a lower molecular weight sulfone polymer (approximately half the molecular weight of the Veradel 3000RP) with roughly 3-5 times higher level of functionality. The differences in molecular weights results in highly varied levels of viscosity, when measured under similar conditions. Typical applications includes high-temperature coating formulations and specialty adhesives.
Overview:
Veradel PES/PESU (polyethersulfone) combines good chemical resistance with a high heat deflection temperature, making it a good fit for baby bottles and other food service applications. This resin is also inherently flame retardant for use in electronic components and testing devices.
